CURRICULUM VITAE

Roberta Finocchiaro, guitarist and singer-songwriter, and was born in Catania on October 10, 1993 in a family of musicians. She began to cultivate a passion for music at an early age.

At the age of 10 she began playing guitar and writing her first songs. Shortly thereafter she began to take piano lessons and later guitar lessons.

She began performing with her band in 2010.

In December 2014 Roberta was discovered by Tillie Records, the record label of Simona Virlinzi, sister of Catania record producer Francesco Virlinzi.

In 2015 she began work in the studio recording her first album Foglie Di Carta, in the pop/blues/folk genre inspired by American musical sounds. The album was released on September 30, 2016.

The “Foglie Di Carta Live” mini-tour was kicked off with dates around Italy.

In December 2016 Roberta walked onto the stage of Light Of Day (Italy) playing with some of Bruce Springsteen’s musicians.

She opened the last date on Elisa’s “On” tour on December 7, 2016.

In September 2017, she began recording her second album in Memphis, Tennessee, at Sam Phillips Recording studio with the participation of American musicians; two in particular had accompanied her favourite musician John Mayer in various recording studios and on tour; drummer Stephen Chopek and bass player David LaBruyere (who also oversaw the album’s artistic production).

In December 2017 Roberta won Red Ronnie’s Fiat Music contest and performed for the first time at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo.

In January 2018 she performed at Light Of Day in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The album Something True was released in December 2018.

In September 2019 Roberta entered a New York studio to record her third album Save Lives with the Rhythm produced by Steve Jordan and released on June 5, 2020. During the lockdown months, Roberta won the contest launched on social media by Alex Britti, and finally on August 18th she redeemed her award at the Piombino Festival by opening the concert and performing "7000 caffè” with Alex.

Roberta also participated in the first contest dedicated to Bruce Springsteen "Cover Me" with the song "New York City Serenade" winning the critics' award.
