CURRICULUM VITAE

Lorenzo Semprini was born in Rimini in 1974. Since 2000 he has led Miami & the Groovers – ‘an Italian band to be proud of, capable of capturing international attention too’ (ilsussidiario.net) – with whom he has produced 4 studio albums (Dirty roads 2005, Merry go round 2008, Good things 2012,The ghost king 2015) and a box live CD/DVD in 2013 (No way back). He has performed in hundreds of concerts across Italy and in the UK, the USA (New York, Asbury Park, Chicago), Luxembourg, Sweden and Austria and has worked live and in the studio with musicians such as Elliott Murphy, Alejandro Escovedo, Billy Bragg, Southside Johnny, Joe D’Urso, Jake Clemons, Willie Nile, Marah Jesse Malin, Ron, Gang, Graziano Romani, Michael McDermott, Riccardo Maffoni, Vini Lopez, Bill Toms, Martyn Joseph, Joel Guzman, Jono Manson, Erin Sax Seymour, Ron, Bobo Rondelli, Bound for Glory and Mike Peters. He has also twice shared a stage with Bruce Springsteen, on the occasion of the benefit concert Light of Day held annually in Asbury Park, New Jersey. In 2020 he wrote and recorded a benefit single, Siamo rimasti noi, with Paolo Fresu and other musicians, referred to as Suonatori in casa - home players - and a new solo Italian project debuted in 2021, starting with the single Lei aspetta. The album 44 came out on 13 October 2021 and was produced by Gianluca Morelli of Deck Recording Studio. 22 musicians were involved.
