CURRICULUM VITAE

Ettore Cardamellis & Paolo Ercoli

Ettore, born in 1969, a musician by boundless desire and perhaps calling, I have found myself fencing my music inside the space of my personal passions... or come to think of it, it is my professional life that has been fenced in; it depends on how you look at it. Imagine a coherent, linear artistic career path. Well, that’s not me.

I grew up listening to English and Irish folk and rock from the 80s (in addition to a certain guy from New Jersey) and then I found myself at the mercy of Italian singer-songwriters, the good ones, for fifteen years and chased them at breakneck speed. I discovered grunge ten years too late, and after a break, realized that I was waiting for a fire to explode inside that still burns, which always speaks of Ireland, rural America and everything in between.

A fire made of music played with instruments of wood and metal and leather, for people made of flesh and spirit. I have shared this road with so many friends, still and always poised between my own personal fire and the need to experience other people's fires. Guitar and vocals, and the feeling of being myself only there, surrounded by people who listen, laugh, sing, dance and drink with me.

Musical experiences in various bands and genres since the early 90s.

With The Folding Chairs I won the Cover Me 2021 contest.

Singer and guitarist, musically I continue to study with various private teachers including Fabio Vitiello for the guitar, and at the Accademia della Voce in Milan for vocals with Lela Cortesi.

Paolo Ercoli, mainly plays a Dobro squareneck guitar, but also the mandolin, guitar and pedal steel guitar. He has collaborated with many Italian and foreign musicians and songwriters, and as proof of this in his recent CD entitled Why Not there are no fewer than 24 Italian and 32 foreign guests, and we find his Dobro guitar, and much more, at the disposal of the many diverse musical styles. His repertoire varies from original compositions to traditional American songs from folk to blues, but an instrumental part is also very present, which accentuates his progressive and experimental side. He has a constantly updated YouTube channel where, in addition to various types of videos, you can also find a short dobro squareneck guitar course.
