CURRICULUM VITAE

Luca Milani & The Glorious Homeless

Luca Milani came to Warriors Grow Up and Die with a fruitful career behind him: the first artist to sign with an international label (Zomba/Silvertone) with File, with whom he recorded “Credo nei miracoli” and the eponymous debut album, since 2009 he has devoted himself to his solo production, which includes Scars and Tattoos, Sin Train (2011), Lost for Rock N Roll (2013) Fireworks for Lonely Hearts (2016) and with the band Hellm, Idols (2019). Produced by Daniele Denti, Warriors Grow Up and Die is Luca Milani's new album and, after a long career, represents a significant turning point. After his debut at a very early age, leading File, with whom he released the EP Credo nei miracoli and an album of the same name, recording for an international record label, Zomba/Silvertone, Luca Milani has built a solid reputation alternating the acoustic feel of Scars and Tattoos and Sin Train with more electric guitar work on Lost for Rock N Roll, Fireworks for Lonely Hearts and Idols released with the band Hellm. For Warriors Grow Up and Die he opted for a balanced sound and a team of largely unrecorded musicians including Evasio Muraro on bass and Fidel Fogaroli on keyboards who contribute to redefining the contours of Luca Milani’s new songs, most of which focus on the idea of “growing up in public” through rock’n’roll. It is a record which conjures up Luca Milan’s heroes and landmarks, starting with an intense dedication to Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots) in “Dear Scott”, but which confirms itself in its efforts to find an ultra-personal approach to writing and interpreting songs. “People tend to forget what they have been and time makes what was once your kingdom become simply an ordinary street in an ordinary town in an ordinary life. This is true, even the strongest disappear, but while sinking you can always choose to be the musicians who played on the Titanic until the end”. This is exactly how Luca Milani has approached these years adrift, finding with Warriors Grow Up and Die the most mature and profound album of his career, as confirmed by the unanimous praise from the specialized critics who, on several occasions, singled it out as one of the most important releases of 2021. However, Luca Milani has not been idle and, in addition to intense live performances, both as a songwriter (remember the exciting showcase at Downtown Studios in Pavia) and as a rock’n’roll band (starting with the mind-blowing concert at Rock’n’Roll in Rho), where Warriors Grow Up and Die was the soul of the shows, he has continued to write new songs. A direct thread that led from “Dirty Hearts”, the first single and video clip from Warriors Grow Up and Die, to “Those Silent Nights”, an unreleased Christmas song in pure Luca Milani style. Another single and video clip from Warriors Grow Up and Die is “Dear Scott”, Luca Milani’s moving letter dedicated to one of his favorite “warriors”, Scott Weiland, singer and leader of Stone Temple Pilots, a great song that deserves a special place.

Luca is currently in the writing phase for what will be a new record expected in late 2023 and early 2024.
