Simone Bertanza is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter and musician from Brescia province. He was born and raised in Salò, on the shores of Lake Garda and got hooked on folk-rock music, from Springsteen to Knopfler, from an early age, combining guitar studies with live performance from as young as 13. Over the years he has played in a variety of formations: from rock-blues trio to folk quintet, but his preferred dimension is as a one-man band, playing kickdrum, harmonica and guitar. He writes, performs and plays original songs, with a style melding American and Australian coast folk-rock with influences ranging from Bruce Springsteen and John Butler, Ryan Adams and Xavier Rudd, and many others such as Kim Churchill, Steph Strings, Sons Of The East, Sam Fender and Paolo Nutini.
In the summer and fall of 2022, he performed at a number of blues festivals where he was opening act for some of the genre's big names such as: Superdownhome, Andy J.Forest, The Cyborgs at the River Blues Park festival in Nave (BS), with headliner Irene Grandi, invited by Giancarlo Trento of Slang Music. From September to December 2023 he performed first at Glory Days in Rimini, on invitation from Lorenzo Semprini, and then at Light Of Day at Bagnacavallo's theater (RA), on invitation from Enrico Tasselli and Massimo Cotto.
In March 2024 he graduated in pop-rock guitar from the Brescia Conservatory of Music, and released Jammin' On The River, his first EP, that same month.
In May 2024 he performed as opening act at a concert by Steph Strings, an Australian musician and singer-songwriter, at ARCI Bellezza in Milan, an event organized by Barley Arts.
